The Real Club de Golf Las Brisas has been recognized as the course presented in the best conditions during the last season of the European women’s circuit, thus putting the finishing touch to the great success of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España held last November at the Marbella course.
It was the Director of Operations of the Ladies European Tour, Davide Lantos, who announced the award at an event held in London. The result of the voting, in which the LET players participated, resulted in two courses tied for first place: Las Brisas and DLF Golf and Country Club (India). The promoters of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, Alicia Garrido and Iñigo Aramburu, representing Deporte and Business and the Las Brisas course itself, were in charge of collecting the award.
The Real Club de Golf Las Brisas is located in the town of Marbella. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1968, and later updated by Kyle Phillips in 2015, a decisive factor in the enjoyment of everyone who attended the 2023 edition of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España. The landscaping of this course, with exotic species from Africa, Asia and America, was the perfect setting for the tournament that closed the season of the Race To Costa del Sol 2023, in which, after a close competition, the Indian Aditi Ashok was proclaimed winner against the Dutch Anne Van Dam and the Spanish Ana Pelaez. The magnificent sporting atmosphere was accompanied by an excellent state of the field, which managed to dazzle both the public and the players themselves, judging by the award obtained.
The general manager of Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, Paul Muñoz, highlighted the hard work and dedication of the team during the week of the championship: “This award is a reflection of the joint effort of the entire team of Real Club de Golf Las Brisas: From the Board of Directors, totally committed to the event and providing key instructions, to our Greenkeeper, Rafael González-Carrascosa, through each of the employees”, he stated.
