Riversa has organized a convention to celebrate the 40th anniversary. An event that has been attended by all its customers and partners.
More than 100 people attended this meeting, most of which were representatives of companies from all over Spain with which Riversa has commercial agreements. Representatives of the supplier brands have also attended.
The celebration has served as a “reunion” between Riversa and its customers, as explained the president of the company, Julian Lara, who thanked all those present for their “effort and dedication to this project”.
The event started at 10 a.m., when customers and suppliers arrived at the company and had the opportunity to greet all the employees. They were then taken to the company’s assembly hall for the opening ceremony.
Julian Lara kicked off the event with a speech in which he detailed the history of the company since its inception in 1976 as irrigation installers to the present. In this tour he highlighted the agreement signed with the U.S. brand Toro for the exclusive import of its products to Spain and, later, to Portugal, as well as the close relationship between Riversa and the growth of the golf industry. “From 16 courses in Spain in 1976, we have grown to more than 300, and there is no course that does not have at least one of our products,” he said.
Riversa’s president made a special mention to its oldest workers. “Some of them have been working here for more than 30 years,” he emphasized.
After the intervention of the president took the floor Sandro Lara, responsible for the commercial area of gardening machinery, who presented the projection of Riversa as a company for the coming years. As pillars of this progress he pointed out “customer service, mutual trust, innovation and after-sales service”, differentiating elements of Riversa for which it has been awarded with several recognitions.
The event also featured the intervention of the Councillor for Parks and Gardens, Francisco Garcia, who praised Riversa for “having created jobs from Marbella out, and not the other way around”.
Some of the attending distributors and representatives of Riversa’s supplier brands also participated, who thanked the commitment and mutual effort.

After the closing of the opening ceremony, attendees took a tour of the company’s facilities, where they had the opportunity to learn about the work of the different departments and their members. In addition, the sales team gave them an in-depth explanation of the products distributed by Riversa and their qualities.
The closing of the celebration will take place tonight at the Beach Guadalmina hotel, where a cocktail party will be offered for guests and employees.
About the company
Riversa was founded in 1976 in Marbella as a company of garden installers. After two years of existence it signs an exclusive distribution agreement with the brand Toro, manufacturer of irrigation equipment and gardening machinery. Throughout the following years a network of distributors is created throughout Spain for these products.
The company has made two changes of headquarters in its history until arriving at the current one, in Cabopino, in the 90s. At the same time it has opened several branches to meet the specific needs of each area (Madrid, Catalonia, Murcia, Canary Islands and Portugal), while maintaining its headquarters in Marbella.
The initial agreement with Toro has been followed by others with Club Car (buggies for golf courses), Avant (skid steer loaders) and Greenmech (forestry waste shredders), all of them reference brands in their respective business areas. In the future, it plans to expand its scope of action to new sectors, such as construction and agricultural machinery.
