The San Roque Club has changed owners and since last month has been part of Golf Estate, a golf management, development and marketing company that is the first golf and operations management intermediary in Russia.
Last Saturday was the official presentation of the new property to the members of this Cadiz club, an event in which the new president, Dmitry Kozachenko, and the project director, Stephen Dundas, announced the participation of The San Roque club in the great project of Golf Estate.
Golf Estate already manages two golf clubs in Russia, so The San Roque Club would become part of that list, being its first club managed in Spain. As Stephen Dundas said, “it is a historic day for The San Roque Club”.
The firm decision to acquire this Spanish club came when they learned that the members were trying to buy it, which showed them how important the club is to the members and how they have taken care of it.
Among the short and long term projects for The San Roque Club is the investment and remodeling of the Old Course in its entirety, starting with the first 9 holes this year so that by June 2021 it will be completely refurbished (new bunkers, new irrigation system, etc.).
Within this ambitious Golf Estate project, both the clubhouse and catering facilities will also undergo major improvements in order to maximize the functionality of these areas. As for the plans for Tony Jacklin’s well-known house, it will be converted into a beautiful boutique hotel at the foot of the Old Course, thus offering clients an exclusive service in this area.
The presentation ended with requests and questions not only from the club captains at the presidential table, but also from the rest of the members in attendance, who expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude to Golf Estate for this great project.
In Stephen Dundas’ own words, “the intention of Golf Estate is to turn The San Roque club into that amazing place that its members will be proud of and where the visitor will want to come back again soon”. The Project Director assures that San Roque club has all the potential to become one of the best golf clubs and holiday destinations both nationally and internationally, and that is the existing future project for The San Roque Club.
Exciting times are undoubtedly ahead for this great golf club.
