With sunny and not excessively hot weather and the presence of a westerly wind that was an additional challenge for the players, the seventh round of the Andalucía Golf Challenge 2019 Destination Riviera Maya Golf Club Riviera Maya Golf Club Bahia Principe in Mexico took place at the magnificent Old Course of San Roque Club.
This event of the tournament circuit organized by Andalucía Golf/España Golf and sponsored by Riviera Maya Bahía Príncipe, Exxacon and Reale-Galpe was attended, as usual in all Circuit events, by both Spanish and foreign players.
In addition to the prizes for each tournament (top brand clothing from the fairway+blue store, D.O. Somontano wines, Holiday Golf sports equipment, etc.), the top five finishers in each category plus the scratch winner get a place to play in the final of the Circuit and thus opt for one of the five trips to the Riviera Maya for a week that includes flight, hotel (Bahía Príncipe Riviera Maya Resort) and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Riviera Maya Golf, El Camaleón Mayakoba and Playa Paraíso.
The top five finishers at the Old Course of San Roque Club in first category were, in this order, the following: David McGregor (39 points), Jose Maria Gil Osorio (39), Thomas Doyle (36), David Steele (35) and Gustaf Browall (34).
In the second category, the five who have won a place in the grand final, to be held on September 7 at Alferini Villa Padierna, are Antonio Muñoz Lanzas (39 points), Martin Malone (38), Kathleen Goeminne (37), Paloma García Gálvez (37) and Alejandro Suanes Crespo (36).
The scratch winner was David McGregor, with 34 points. The special prizes for closest ball went to Patrik Ljungmark while those for longest drive went to Patrizia Zimmermann and Gustav Browalf.
The sports party concluded in the splendid facilities of the members’ clubhouse with a magnificent cocktail party and the awarding of prizes and raffle of gifts.
The next appointments of the Andalucía Golf Challenge 20189 Destination Riviera Maya Golf Club Bahía Príncipe Circuit are the following: August 3 at Valle Romano; August 17 at Flamingos and August 24 at La Reserva Cllub Sotogrande. The final will be played on September 7 at Alferini Villa Padierna.

ANDALUCÍA GOLF CHALLENGE 2019 CIRCUIT
The Andalucía Golf Challenge Destino Riviera Maya Golf Club Riviera Maya Golf Club Bahía Príncipe Circuit began on April 10 at Golf Santander (Madrid) and will conclude at La Reserva Club Sotogrande on August 24. The Grand Final will be played on September 7 at Alferini (Villa Padierna Golf Resort). The top five in each category in each tournament qualify for the Grand Final, where the five one-week all-inclusive trips to Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort, with golf at Riviera Maya Golf Club, El Camaleón Mayakoba and Playa Paraíso, will be decided. This trip will take place on October 27th.
