Sara Navarro and Calvin Greschner, winners of the VI Barbésula Trophy

Sara Navarro and Calvin Greschner have won the sixth edition of the Barbésula Trophy, a scoring event for the Absolute and Junior Ranking of Andalusia that has been played in two days at the Club de Golf La Cañada.

The player of La Siesta, Sara Navarro, thus revalidates the title she won in the last edition. The player from Malaga signed yesterday during the first day a card of 76 strokes that placed her in second position, one stroke behind Euphemine Rhodes, who was leading the classification at the end of the first round. In this second day, Sara Navarro has delivered a card of 77 strokes, for a total of 153, which has earned her the victory.

The second place went to the local player Euphemine Rhodes, who signed the second day 70 strokes for a total of 154 and has been proclaimed, in addition, first classified handicap. Behind her, with four strokes of difference, has been in the scratch classification the player of San Roque Club, Nerea Domínguez.

As for the men’s category, the SIGA – Sotogrande player, Calvin Greschner, has risen to victory after having signed the best scratch round in the two days that the competition lasted. After placing first on Saturday with 71 strokes – one more than Gonzalo García Parada and Víctor Bjorlow -, on Sunday he improved his own result and, with a round of 69 strokes, won the trophy.

Behind him, the player from El Candado, Gonzalo García Parada, was proclaimed runner-up with a total of 148 strokes (72+76) and identical results to the player from San Roque Club, Víctor Bjorlow, who took third place.

Special mention also goes to Callum Ritchie, best handicap round of the second day, and to José María Barrena, first classified in the Mid Amateur category.

The awards ceremony was attended by, among others, Mr. Luis Mansilla, President of the Men’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Mr. José Chapaza, President of La Cañada Golf Club, and Mr. Rafael Toval, Chief Referee of the tournament.
