Sergio and Kaymer lead the way at the Qatar Masters

The stars of the last Ryder Cup Sergio Garcia and Germany’s Martin Kaymer share, along with Australian Australian Marcus Fraser and the Portuguese Ricardo Santos, the leader in the Qatar Golf Masters after the second day at the Doha Club, each with a total of 135 strokes (-9). The Spanish player was, with 66 strokes, the best of the day and was installed in the group that leads the fight for the victory, which has a one-stroke advantage over a quintet that includes Chilean Felipe Aguilar.

On a day in which the wind once again made its presence felt, the Spanish player did not make any mistakes and ended the day with six birdies. Sergio could have become the sole leader had he not narrowly missed a birdie on the last hole of the round.

“It’s nice to have a good round and put myself in the lead,” said the Castellon native. “I played a little better than yesterday, so I’m happy with my game, plus the wind blew a little stronger today,” he added.
