Smashes a green with more than a hundred vandalistic blows

A player pissed off by a bad round seeking revenge? No one has yet been found guilty, but someone suspects a scorned golfer as the perpetrator of an act of vandalism that has left one of the greens at Timbers Golf Club, in the state of Michigan, looking like Gruyere cheese.

The ‘joke’ is not funny to the club, whose manager, Patty Tanner, has put the cost of repairing the green at between $20,000 and $30,000.

The ‘aggression’ took place at night and the vandal may have used a golf club for his misdeed, which resulted in a constellation of holes, more than a hundred, all over the surface of the 16th green.

“It’s devastating and disgusting,” Tanner said. “I haven’t seen anything like it in the twenty-one years I’ve been working here,” he added. In order to keep play on the entire course uninterrupted and while the damage is being repaired, a temporary green has been set up.

The manager of Timbers Golf Club has shared photos of the damage to the green on social media and is confident that the police will soon be able to track down the ‘greens killer’.
