The fifth round of the Andalucía Golf Challenge circuit was held on Saturday 19 at Villa Padierna Golf Club, specifically on the Flamingos course.
More than one hundred players had registered and the day could not have been better: adequate temperature, without excessive heat, with a light breeze that softened the atmosphere, and participants willing to give their all on a course that was in magnificent conditions.
After the game, in which very good results were harvested by some players, everyone could enjoy a great paella, actually two, which was served in the gardens of La Cantina, the clubhouse of the club, where the awards ceremony of the tournament was also held. The ceremony was led by our editor Antonio Sánchez, and was also attended by Gabriela Johne, from the firm that is the main sponsor of the circuit, Fairway+Blue, and Nicolás Gil, from Villa Padierna Golf Club.
As for the results, the closest ball was won by Pedro Miguel Cevey, the longest drive for ladies by Lynos Ayling, and the longest drive for gentlemen by Joaquín Navarrete Sorela.
As for the top three in the second category, third was Araceli Puga García, with forty points, second was Esteban Ferrón Valdivieso, with 44 points, and in first place was Jake Macintyre, also with 44 points but a lower handicap.
