The official presentation of the Salme’s Cup 2014, a charity golf tournament baptized as “The place where dreams come true” and considered the most fun in the world, turned into a great show. The presentation chosen for this sixth edition was attended by many popular faces such as the soccer coaches Paco Jémez and Bernardo Schuster, who this year will meet at the Buenavista golf course in Tenerife, where the traditional confrontation between Guille’s friends and Sinacio’s friends will take place on May 24.
Once again, the Salme’s Cup amazed all those present at the Compac Gran Vía theater, the place chosen on this occasion for the presentation of what will be the sixth edition of an exceptional event. There, the actors Javier Veiga, Marta Hazas, Leo Harlem and Nancho Novo represented a fun play that gave way to a spectacular musical in the purest Broadway style. More than seventy dancers surprised with a fun show during which the charms of the Salme’s Cup were perfectly reflected: on stage paraded hostesses from Iberia Express -the official airline of the Salme’s Cup-, tourists from Canary Islands and Tenerife -the venue of the event-, nurses -in allusion to the sponsor Kern Pharma-, and a long list of similes and metaphors that made a dedicated and enthusiastic audience laugh.
After the musical, the Salmerón brothers, Guillermo and Sinacio, promoters of the event that bears their surname, explained some of the details that will be experienced in Tenerife at the end of May. The event was attended by Carlos Alonso, president of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife and Silvia Mosquera, commercial director of Iberia Express, who thanked the Salme’s for the opportunity to be part of a charity event with such exceptional values. The CEO of Kern Pharma, Raúl Díaz-Varela, was present through the networks, sending an audiovisual message from Korea.
The presentation event was attended by a multitude of stars who actively supported a very peculiar press conference: Football coaches Paco Jémez, Paco Jémez, Paco Jémez, Paco Jémez, Paco Jémez and Paco Jémez. Paco Jémez y Bernardo SchusterOlympic medalist Juan Antonio Corbalán; the actor Francis Lorenzothe bullfighters Oscar Higares y Pepín Liriathe actress Veronica Mengod… all of them enjoyed together with hundreds of journalists and guests of an exciting, fun and solidary evening.
During the event, the details of this year’s edition of the Salme’s Cup, to be held from May 23 to 25, were unveiled: The Buenavista Golf Course, in the north of the island of Tenerife, a course designed by the honorary president of the tournament, Severiano Ballesteros, will dress up together with the hotel Vincci Selección Buenavista Golf &Spa 5*GL to host the event. Throughout the weekend, professionals from the world of sport, culture and entertainment will come together in a unique setting to enjoy different sporting events. Twelve against twelve, friends of Guille versus friends of Sinacio, in the purest Ryder Cup style, will face each other in an ideal setting in order to raise funds for charity under the slogan “Mistakes are paid”.
This charity tournament, whose honorary presidency has been held since its beginnings by Seve Ballesteros, is the most fun tournament in the world, and is mainly sponsored by Promotur-Turismo de Canarias, Tenerife Tourism, Kern Pharma e Iberia Expressas well as the co-sponsorship of La Cosa de las Películas, Plus Ultra Seguros y Gant.
