The Estrella Damn N.A. Andalucia Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation will be played next year from April 30 to May 3, which means an advance of practically two months with respect to the edition played this year. This is one of the novelties of the new European Tour season, which includes the Spanish Open as the second tournament in our country, to be played from October 15 to 18.
The tournament at Real Club Valderrama starts phase two of the qualifying campaign for the European team for the 2020 Ryder Cup, with points earned in Spain and in subsequent tournaments until the BMW PGA Championship, the last event that counts towards the Ryder Cup ranking.
Other date changes in the 2020 European Tour calendar affect the Trophée Hassan II and the Scandinavian Invitation, both of which move to early June. The Open de France will be played again in July, while the British Masters will start on July 30.
The 2020 European Tour totals 46 tournaments in 29 countries, including eight Rolex Series events (with more than $7 million in prize money).
The Rolex Series returns for the fourth consecutive year, beginning with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship (January 16-19) followed by the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open (May 28-31) and the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open (July 9-12), before the BMW PGA Championship (September 10-13) and the Italian Open (October 8-11).
The season concludes with three consecutive Rolex Series events; the Turkish Airlines Open (November 5-8), the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player (November 12-15) and the final tournament of the season, the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai (November 19-22), where the Race to Dubai 2020 champion will be crowned.
Next year will see the Olympic Games golf competitions in Tokyo from July 30 to August 2 and the Ryder Cup in Whistling Straits, Wisconsin, from September 25 to 27.
