The two pairs will play six match-play holes in best ball mode (from 10 to 11 and then from 15 to 18 at La Reserva Club de Sotogrande) starting from the same tees. In addition, all holes will have to produce a winning pair, and in the event of a tie on a hole, it will be resolved by means of a fun test of skill. On the other hand, good play will be rewarded and all birdies, eagles and holes-in-one will be “exchanged” for donations to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), an organization that plays a fundamental role in cancer research and in supporting cancer patients and their families.

“I am delighted to participate in The Challenge and share the course with three wonderful golfers. Of course, when you go out on the course, you always get that competitive spirit, even if it’s all about the spectacle and the charitable nature of the event. . Aunque no sea la misma modalidad, en tiempos ya jugué algunos torneos medal-play mixtos del European Tour con Marta Figueras Dotti y me pareció muy divertido e interesante”, nos explica Manuel Piñero, embajador de La Reserva de Sotogrande.

“It is an honor to bring a Ladies European Tour tournament to Sotogrande for the first time and the possibility of raising funds for the fight against cancer rounds off a very nice tournament. On the other hand, it is a great showcase and we are excited for people to see all the improvements we are introducing at La Reserva de Sotogrande. We are making a great effort to turn the course into one of the best in Europe and little by little we are getting closer to our goal,” Piñero concludes.

The tournament La Reserva de Sotogrande Invitational will be the first of three stops that the Ladies European Tour will make in Spain during 2019 and will be hosted by Annika Sorenstam, one of the best players in history.
