The Costa del Sol will allocate more than 800,000 euros to actions in the Golf segment during 2020.

Costa del Sol Tourism will allocate more than 800,000 euros to specific actions for the Golf segment during 2020, as stated in the Action Plan of the entity for this year, among which are fairs, professional conferences, professional forums, trade alliances, marketing campaigns, actions in the destination, as well as reverse actions.

The CEO of Turismo Costa del Sol, Margarita del Cid, said that the entity will continue as it has been doing in recent years with its strong commitment to the golf segment, a segment of vital importance to the province of Malaga and key to the fight against seasonality”.

Therefore, Turismo Costa del Sol will invest 54,000 euros to participate in various international fairs specialized in golf, as well as women’s and men’s tournaments that take place throughout the year.

As regards professional conferences, representatives of the entity will attend the Costa del Sol Ladies Trophy to be held in several international cities focused on the Scandinavian market and for which 25,000 euros will be allocated.

Throughout 2020, Costa del Sol will also be present at a series of professional forums including IAGTO Golf Trophy, IAGTO North American Tourism Convention, Costa del Sol Ambassador Cup, or the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) for which it will invest a total of 120,500 euros.

In terms of commercial alliances, the entity will continue with the collaboration it has maintained so far with the PGA of Germany and will carry out an online Golf B2C campaign throughout next year. Turismo Costa del Sol will organize again this year a new edition of the Pro Am Costa del Golf Turismo Costa del Sol, as well as the professional forum IAGTO Women’s Golf Forum.

“The recognitions received by the Costa del Sol as Best European Golf Destination 2019 by IAGTO, and being the Official Golf Destination of PGA exclusive PGA Germany in Continental Europe, have strengthened the positioning that the Costa del Sol has in the golf segment and also in the German market, one of the priorities for the destination. Turismo Costa del Sol has strengthened ties with the PGA of Germany, being named the exclusive Official Golf Destination of PGA Germany in Continental Europe,” said Margarita del Cid.

The entity will also be involved in the organization of familiarization trips with professionals of the golf segment at a national and international level, so that they can get to know first-hand the wide range of services offered by the destination in this sport, as well as the complementary offer.

A significant amount will also be allocated during 2020 to other actions such as the marketing plan, communication and Let contents, as well as the preparation of the Race To Costa del Sol and Costa del Sol Open de España-Solheim Cup, for which the entity has foreseen an allocation of 490,000 euros.
