The IG MEETING Malaga Golf Fair will be held in February 2025.

The Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA) will host the IG MEETING Málaga Golf Fair from February 23 to 26, 2025. This event, with international projection, will bring together leading golf players and the most important brands in the segment, positioning Andalusia and Spain as preferred destinations for golf tourism in Europe.

The presentation ceremony of the fair, held in the FYCMA itself, was attended by prominent personalities from the tourism and sports fields at a national level: Yolanda Aguilar, general secretary of Tourism of Andalusia; Jacobo Florido, councilman delegate of Tourism and Promotion of the City of Malaga City Council; Juan Rosas, deputy of the Sports Area of the Diputación d Malaga; Luis Gonzaga Escauriaza, president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation; Pablo Mansilla, president of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Mario Milán, CEO of Grupo Pacífico, and Carlos Marín, CEO of CM GOLF.

Juan Rosas had a few words to highlight golf as a segment of great importance for tourism in the province: “It is a privilege to be here today, sharing space with professionals and enthusiasts who, like us, see golf as a unique opportunity to promote our territory. Supporting this first golf fair with an international profile in Spain is an honor because it reflects our efforts to position ourselves as a benchmark destination in this sport”.

The Costa del Sol, known worldwide as the Costa del Golf, has more than 70 first class golf courses. This prestige is due to the excellence of its facilities, an unbeatable climate and captivating landscapes that attract international visitors, mainly from Nordic countries, the United Kingdom, Germany and, increasingly, the United States. According to data extracted by Turismo Costa del Sol, visitors give the destination an average score of 9.24 out of ten, highlighting safety, human treatment and value for money, and 98.7% of travelers recommend the Costa del Golf.

Rosas added that the presence of this type of travelers on the Costa del Sol has a great economic impact on the area, not only in terms of golf. “Events such as IG MEETING Málaga 2025 are fundamental to continue strengthening our tourism offer, innovating and improving the experience of those who choose us as their golf destination.”

In recent years, Turismo Costa del Sol has intensified its efforts in the golf segment to consolidate its position in key markets. Recently, it highlighted its participation in the NAGC 2024 in North America, and in Latin America it reinforced its commitment with various promotional initiatives. It also promoted golf tourism at the IAGTO European Convention, aimed at more than 800 industry professionals. These actions reflect a robust strategy to attract international tourists and enhance the visibility of the Costa del Sol as a top golf destination. At the local level, Turismo Costa del Sol organized outstanding events such as the VI Golf Tournament AECC Benalmádena Torremolinos and the Pro-Am Costa del Golf Turismo, which celebrated the talent of Malaga golfers and supported charitable causes.

The celebration of IG MEETING Malaga 2025 not only enhances the value of the golf offer in Andalusia, but also encourages the exchange of ideas and best practices among all participants, which is essential for the continued growth and development of our industry. From Turismo Costa del Sol, they have reiterated their commitment to golf tourism and invited everyone to collaborate to make Malaga and the Costa del Sol a reference destination worldwide.
