The Jerez Club de Golf School, golfers quarry

The Jerez Club de Golf School, which was born in 2007 in the heart of the Jerez Club de Golf, has become over the years in a quarry of golfers in this town of Cádiz and its surroundings.

What began as a project for the sons and daughters of the more than 700 members of those years is now a reality converted into a Municipal School managed by members of the Jerez Club de Golf.

The project was launched thanks to the enthusiasm and drive of the members of the Jerez Club de Golf, the support of the management of the Municipal School of La Cañada and the work of the board of directors of the Jerez Club de Golf.

In the course of those initial years, the management and organization of La Escuela del Jerez Club de Golf has been perfected and today it enjoys an enviable health, since it has its own entity thanks to the fact that the Club’s board of directors decided to support an organization supervised by the club’s presidency, personified in the figure of Fernando Zambrano.

The result of these years has been magnificent, as it has a quarry that today there are more than 150 children who have been trained in the teachings of the discipline of golf, with very bright results from the second year in both local and Andalusian and national competitions.

These results have led, for example, to a student, Marta López de Alda, playing in the Andalusian team. Marta started from day one at La Escuela del Jerez Club de Golf and today she is a promising Andalusian golfer. She has participated in national competitions with great results and reaching the top of the Andalusian ranking.

Today there are many students competing from an early age in circuits such as the Pequecircuito organized by the RFGA for the development of the game of the youngest and in the circuit for the most evolved in the golf technique.

The School is located at the Sherry Golf facilities by virtue of a collaboration agreement whereby the Jerez Club de Golf and the Jerez Club de Golf School occupy the driving range and par 3 course and its students (almost 80 at present) also have preferential right to the 18-hole course.

Several years ago, the Jerez Club de Golf School also got the City Council of Jerez to entrust it with the mission of managing a municipal school, so that currently all children registered in Jerez who wish to start playing golf can do so through the Municipal School of the Jerez Club de Golf.

Apart from the support of the City Council, the School has the support of the Provincial Council of Cadiz, which has committed to provide it with sports equipment.
