
The courses of Alborán, Antequera and the Real Club de Sevilla have hosted during the weekend the Circuitos Juvenil and Benjamín de Andalucía, in which, in total, more than 230 players under 16 years of age have participated.
The event was played under the stroke play (Stroke Play) Scratch individual, 18 holes for the Cadets, Children and Alevines categories, and 9 holes for the Benjamín category.
As for the winners, in the Almeria course of Alborán, the local player, Ángela Simón and Alejandro García, from Santa Clara Granada, were proclaimed Champions in the Girls’ and Boys’ Alevín category with 94 and 88 strokes respectively.
In the Children’s category, the winner was the player from Almerimar, Marina Escobar, -who delivered a card of 81 strokes- and the player Gonzalo Maldonado, from La Envia, with a total of 76 strokes.
On the other hand, the player from Playa Serena, Eduardo Morales, led the Cadet Men’s classification with 69 strokes.
Pablo Cervantes, also a player from Alborán, was proclaimed champion among the youngest players with 48 strokes, after playing a round of 9 holes.
The awards ceremony was attended by Francisco Venegas, director of Alborán, and Mª José Fernández, Provincial Delegate of the RFGA in Almería.
In the central area, Antequera Golf, Gonzalo Rosa -from Alhaurín Golf- and Lourdes García -from Benahavís- won with 91 and 90 strokes respectively in the Alevín category. Among the children, the player from Añoreta, Ángel Manuel Rodríguez and the player from La Cañada, Valentina Albertazzi, won with 79 and 77 strokes.
Moving on to the Cadets, the player from Atalaya, Sergio Domínguez, and the player from Marbella Golf & Country Club, Mª Pilar Scenna, won with 75 and 77 strokes.
As for the benjamins, the first classified was the player from Guadalhorce, Victor Leiva, with 54 strokes.
The awards ceremony was attended by Ramón Jiménez, President of Antequera Golf; Rafael Trujillo, Director of Antequera Golf Hotels Group; Karl Adams, Director of Antequera Golf; and Javier Núñez, Member of the Children and Youth Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation.
Finally, at the Real Club de Sevilla, Alejandro Chacón -from Guadalmina- and the local player, Ana Amalia Pina, were proclaimed champions in the Alevín category, both with 82 strokes.
In the children’s category, Gonzalo Leal -also from the Real Club de Sevilla- has signed the best result of the day, 72 strokes that have proclaimed him champion. In the female children’s category, Carmen Belmonte -from the Club de Campo de Córdoba-, was the first classified with 81 strokes.
The player from Guadalhorce, Gonzaga de Gregorio, leads the Cadet Men’s classification with 68 (-4) strokes, and Pilar Martínez Stephens, also a player from Guadalhorce, has won in the women’s category with 73 strokes.
Calvin Greschner (SIGA – Sotogrande) finished the day as Junior Male Champion, while Isabel Marín, from Novo Sancti Petri, was the Junior Female Champion.
As for the juniors, the first places went to the players of La Cañada, Angel Ayora with 39 strokes and Patience Rhodes, with 48.
The awards ceremony was attended by Francisco Puente, President of the Children and Youth Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Candelaria Flores, Delegate of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation in Seville; and Mariano Torres, President of the Golf Committee of the Real Club de Sevilla.
These have been the last tests of the Circuitos de Andalucía Juvenil and Benjamín 2014, which will celebrate their final in Montecastillo on November 22.
