The Real Club de Golf Las Brisas will be reopening the course in October

The Real Club de Golf Las Brisas has undergone an in-depth renovation in recent years that will restore this course, one of the best in Spain, to its full splendor.

The Marbella course, of which its creator, Robert Trent Jones, was particularly proud and satisfied, has been thoroughly renovated and adapted to the new golfing times.

Kyle Phillips, one of the favorite disciples of the great architect, considered American although he was born in England (he emigrated to the United States with his parents when he was 5 years old), has been the architect of this great update of the Costa del Sol course that once hosted two World Golf Cups and several Spanish Opens.

The completion of the refurbishment of the second nine holes was scheduled for early August “but with the rains we had at the end of last year, and other setbacks difficult to foresee, such as subway services, sanitation, etc., we have been delayed a little, but within normal for a job of this magnitude,” says Paul Muñoz, director of the emblematic course in Marbella’s Golf Valley.

“We will open for play next October, which means a couple of months’ delay. What we regret is that our Spanish members who usually come in August will not be able to enjoy the finished course,” said Muñoz.

-The reforms have been in depth….

-Yes, they have been very important in all aspects. We have made a comprehensive reform in which, in addition to changing tees, bunkers, greens, fairways, rough, etc., we have made changes in the design respecting the style and spirit of Trent Jones. We have kept some of his holes in essence and we have transformed others such as 15, 16 and 17.

-That’s why the renovations were done by Kyle Phillips….

-We believe he is the one who best understands and knows Mr. Jones’ style.
