The RFGA brings together the golf courses of Seville, Huelva and Cádiz Atlántica at Real Club Sevilla Golf

The Royal Andalusian Golf Federation has gathered at the facilities of the Real Club Sevilla Golf to directors and commercial managers of the golf courses in the western area of Andalusia. The reason for the call has been to present the action plan of the Commercial and Promotion committees of the federative body and to take stock of the activities implemented during the past year 2018, as well as to address issues of common interest for the golf industry sector.

As novelties to highlight, during the past year 2018, the Commercial and Promotion Committee was divided into two different committees, in such a way that the commercial one focuses its efforts on promoting Andalusia as a set of golf tourist destinations -each one with a complementary and quality offer that makes it different from the rest-, while the Promotion Committee acts as the federation’s interlocutor with the schools of the courses, to work on golf initiation campaigns -with special attention to children and young people-, to facilitate access to competition for players of higher categories and to convert the occasional player into a regular player.

Thus, during the past year, the Commercial Committee was present in some twenty commercial actions in the main European golf markets, including actions aimed at the direct public and with operators specialized in golf. For its part, the Promotion Committee has focused its work on campaigns such as golf in schools, campaigns for specific groups or the friends cup, a tournament in which a player invites a non-player friend to learn about golf.

The Royal Andalusian Golf Federation’s ‘Junior Golf’ program, promoted by its Promotion Committee, has offered the best conditions for children and young people to enjoy the sport on a total of 44 Andalusian courses and has become a powerful tool for selling Andalusia as an ideal tourist destination for family vacations in the national market.

A total of twenty golf courses were represented at the meeting, coming from the provinces of Seville and Huelva and the Atlantic area of Cadiz. The meeting has been conducted by Carlos Pitarch, in his capacity as President of the Commercial Committee of Golf Courses of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation.

He was accompanied at the presentation by Claudia Hernández, President of the Spanish Golf Courses AssociationShe took the floor to address business issues common to the golf sector and explain the strategic lines on which the association is working to defend the interests of the golf courses before administrations and other groups on issues such as labor agreements, water and phytosanitary regulations or VAT. The Spanish Golf Courses Association was founded three years ago and, so far, has more than 150 golf courses associated throughout the country.

Santiago Urquijo, Vice President of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, and Enrique Martín, Director of the Real Club Sevilla Golf, completed the table. Tomorrow, the headquarters of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation will host the meeting with the courses of Costa del Sol, Almeria, Granada, Cordoba and Jaen.
