The RFGA helps its players to continue their training in the U.S.

The Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and the company AGM Sports (www.agmsports.com) have announced the signing of a collaboration agreement under which they will offer an opportunity for academic and sporting development to golf players of medium and high level who want to start or continue their university studies in the USA without losing sight of their sporting prospects. In this way, players who meet the academic and sporting requirements demanded by American universities will be able to receive scholarships valued in thousands of dollars to study a university degree and continue playing golf.

An increasing number of golf players from all over Spain have chosen the American path, motivated by the possibility of combining high-level sport with university studies, as well as by the benefit of perfecting their English and acquiring an international experience.

“The opportunity provided by the American system for Spanish athletes is really attractive, with both short- and long-term benefits,” says Gonzalo “Talito” Corrales, CEO of AGM Sports. “There are more than 1,000 universities with golf facilities, 700 of which offer sports scholarships and many of them have practically professional infrastructures. In addition, students train daily and travel to regional and even national competitions. When they finish university, they return to Spain with a university education, an incredible international experience, and perfect English, which puts them in an excellent position when it comes to accessing the job market.”

From the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, its President, Mr. Ángel de la Riva Gómez, highlights the importance of this agreement reached with AGM Sports, thanks to which the Federation will be able to provide a new service to its student players, who will be able to finish their careers while perfecting their golf.

De la Riva also adds that one of the great commandments of the Board of Directors that he presides has always been and will continue to be to train great players and better people, that the players progress in the quality of their game but, above all, that they are exemplary sportsmen. He also notes that this agreement makes him especially excited because it reinforces the commitment that the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation has always had with young people.

AGM has worked with more than 80 Spanish golfers (23 of whom will start the course next August).

The Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and AGM Sports will carry out a series of actions in the coming months to promote the different options that exist in the United States for federated athletes between 15 and 20 years old. The first joint action will be a free webinar on golf scholarships in the USA, which will take place this coming Thursday, June 12 at 9:00 pm and will be presented by Gonzalo Corrales.

Places for this videoconference are limited, so all those interested should register in advance at the following link: http://www.agmeducacion.com/es/videoconferencia/golf-12-junio
