The successful 'Golf Joven' program of the Andalusian Federation continues to grow

The ‘Golf Joven’ program continues to grow. In total, there have been about 7,000 children and young people who, throughout 2018, have taken advantage of its benefits to enjoy the best conditions to practice their favorite sport in about 50 courses in Andalusia. Its growth throughout the past year 2018 has been extraordinary and the Promotion Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation hopes that this new year will be the one of its definitive consolidation.

The great success of the initiative lies in the fact that a total of forty-three Andalusian clubs -which, between them, total nearly fifty different courses and cover the eight Andalusian provinces- have joined forces to promote golf for players under 26 years of age at more than affordable prices in Andalusia: only two euros for children up to 13 years of age who are accompanied by an adult and a maximum of 25 euros for players up to 25 years of age. Applicable to any player with a national golf license, which has allowed federated players from other areas of Andalusia to enjoy the program during their visits to this unique golf destination.

According to data provided by the camps themselves, there have been close to 7,000 trips to Andalusian camps under these promotions – an average of 580 trips per month – although it is true that it has been during the summer months, coinciding with school vacations, when the figures have been higher.

The fields adhered to the program have turned to the initiative and, in general, the feelings that all of them have are more than positive, which leads us to believe that during the coming months the program will continue to grow and, above all, become stronger and become a key to the development of sport in Andalusia.

For the time being, all the courses that have integrated the program in 2018 will continue to be part of it in 2019 and new additions are still expected. Last year closed with some success stories, such as Lauro Golf in Malaga, Islantilla and Isla Canela in Huelva, Sherry in Jerez and La Envia or Alboran in Almeria.

The secret of success in these cases has been to link these advantages of the ‘Golf Joven’ program to other parallel actions such as the federative children’s tournaments hosted by the courses or, for example, the Children’s Circuit that Lauro Golf has held every Friday afternoon and the one organized by Islantilla Golf during the summer months. In Sherry Golf, the effort has been put in a very special way in giving diffusion both in caddy master, as through digital media and among children and parents of the school.

For its part, La Envia Golf has especially noticed the use of the program during the week, when many children have been encouraged to go out to play in the afternoons, accompanied by their parents, thus encouraging the practice of sport as a family. Alborán Golf comments that they have especially noticed the use of the program among families from other areas of Spain who have their vacation residence in Almería and, in the same sense, in Isla Canela they add that they have observed how, thanks to the ‘Golf Joven’ program, their visitors plan their vacations better, including golf among the activities to do during the summer.

CONDITIONS

The conditions are applicable to children and young people from all over Spain who are in possession of the national golf license.

Children under 14 years old pay 2 euros to play golf. For players between 14 and 25 years old, the maximum green fee is 25 euros.

Accompanied by an adult -who will pay green fee- in a game of maximum 4 players.
Schedule:
- During Christmas, White Week and summer vacations, free schedule.
- Rest of the year, from 3:30 p.m. in winter (5 months a year) and from 4:30 p.m. in summer (7 months a year).

Conditions for young people between 14 and 25 years old, holders of national federative license. (*Conditions must always be confirmed with the club at the time of booking):

Price 25 euros.
Schedule:
- During Christmas, White Week and summer vacations, free schedule.
- The rest of the year, from 2:00 p.m. in winter and from 3:00 p.m. in summer.
