The Hotel Villa Padierna Palace Hotel is now officially nominated among the best Boutique Golf Resorts in the world by this year’s prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA). The complex, the first six-star resort on the Costa del Sol, will compete with three other resorts in the category that considers the best hotels with a golf course and less than 150 rooms. For its president, Ricardo Arranz, being among the best “is a recognition of a job well done by a great team of professionals dedicated to making the stay at Villa Padierna Palace Hotel unique”. And he recalled that this award joins the one achieved just a month ago by the Hotel Thermas de Carratraca (Malaga), the Villa Padierna group, chosen as the best Spa Resort in Spain.
The recent nomination of Villa Padierna Palace Hotel is justified by its unique setting, next to the Mediterranean, where the practice of golf becomes an experience thanks to its three courses (Flamingos, Alferini and Tramores) with 18 holes each and facilities with personalized service. It also has the Jason Floyd Golf Academy, a unique school in Europe specialized in short game and classes adapted to the needs of the client.
Flamingos Golf
The 18-hole, 5,714 m. par 71 layout, designed by the prestigious architect Antonio García Garrido, is characterized by its carefully designed landscaping, with a large number of different species of trees and beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.
The greens are generously sized, the fairways are narrow in the first half of the course, where more precision is required than in the second half. Bunkers of white marble. The fairways are planted with bermuda, while penncross has been used on greens and tees.
Flamingos Golf has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the final of the European Seniors in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and the Open de España Femenino de Golf in 2010.

It is an ideal course for the celebration of competitions and big tournaments, as well as to enjoy the best pleasant and relaxed day. It is fully integrated into the landscape of Villa Padierna Resort with careful care for nature and attention to environmental care. Its long fairways surrounded by mountains make it a beautiful challenge.
Alferini Golf Club is the course that completes the golfing offer of Villa Padierna Golf Club, raising the set to levels of all kinds of elite competitions. It was a candidate to host the Solheimcup 2015.

Online voting
Once the nominees were revealed, the deadline for online voting was opened, but we will have to wait until December 12 to find out the winner, as the grand finale will be held on that day at The Oberoi Gurgaon in New Delhi, a city that is thus recognized by the organizers of the event “as a world-class destination for business and leisure travel in continuous evolution”.
Since 1993, the World Travel Awards have recognized excellence in the global travel industry. The election system is based on voting by industry professionals such as travel agencies and tour operators from 150 countries, who select the best destinations, hotels, airlines, cruises and resorts.
