The tournament at Zagaleta New once again confirmed the prestige of one of the most exclusive events of the San Miguel XVI Andalucía Golf Challenge by Globalia, which on 22 July 2026 brought players together in a top-quality setting. The Zagaleta New Course did not disappoint and delivered another success in turnout and satisfaction among the participants, who were able to enjoy a course in perfect condition.
An exclusive setting and a course in perfect condition
The tournament at Zagaleta New was played under the Individual Stableford format on a course presented in impeccable detail. Players enjoyed a refreshment station at hole 2 and a fantastic cocktail reception that preceded the prize-giving. Recognition went to the entire team led by Tatiana Morató at the club and to Borja Amián’s team in catering, responsible for an excellent service that lived up to the setting.

The scratch winner of the tournament at Zagaleta New was José Antonio López Pérez, with 34 scratch points. As he was already qualified for the Final on 19 September at Hacienda Alcaidesa Heathland —with a gala dinner at the Occidental Puerto Banús hotel—, his place goes to the runner-up, Paul McMahon, with one more stroke (three more than the course).
In the First Category, the standings were as follows:
- Luis Diez Sobrino — 37 points
- Sergei Kozhaev — 35 points
- Julián de Lago López — 35 points
In the Second Category, the top three were:
- Thomas Ettl — 41 points
- José Manuel Saiz Fernández — 40 points

In this case, as the scratch winner was already qualified beforehand, the corresponding place passed to the runner-up, Paul McMahon, in accordance with the circuit regulations.
