El Paraíso Golf Club, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, was conceived with a single objective: to be a great course, not an excuse to sell houses. Its renowned designer had it clear and was not going to tolerate any interference; not in vain was none other than the legendary South African player Gary Player, winner of nine majors and who formed with Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus one of the historic trios that marked a whole golden age of high competition.
The fairways of El Paraíso are wide and easy to walk, so the golfer enjoys a beautiful landscape thanks to its large number and variety of trees and vegetation. The location is very good, in the heart of the Costa del Golf, between two of the Costa del Sol’s golfing towns par excellence: Marbella and Estepona.
In addition to its magnificent course, El Paraíso is known for being one of the clubs with the most social activities on the Costa del Sol, and an example of this is that up to nine competitions are organized every week to suit players of all levels: White tee on Saturdays, Am-Am on Mondays and Fridays, Singles on Mondays, etc.
The ladies have an important presence in El Paraíso. There are over 200 members in the club and they are very well organized. Ladies’ day is on Monday, but they also play on Wednesdays for the members’ day tournament.
And to further enhance the relationship between members, El Paraíso organizes one lively social event per month, including theme nights, live music, contests and gala dinners. The restaurant has a fantastic menu and very reasonable prices, as they are decided by the club’s Board of Directors.
Since the beginning of the recession, the club decided to introduce many different types of membership to suit the golfer who plays once a month, once a week or for 6 months and can choose the option that best suits their circumstances. It has also recently launched a weekend membership for only 99 euros per month. As well as enjoying a fantastic course, new members joining El Paraíso are warmly welcomed and quickly make new friends.
