South Korean Na’s first win on the American Tour

The South Korean Kevin Na has achieved his first victory in the American Tour, the PGA Tour, by winning the Justin Timberlake Shriners H. Open in Las Vegas. Na defeated American Nick Watney by two strokes, thanks to birdies on the 15th and 17th holes.

The Asian player closed his participation with a round of 65 strokes, 6 under par, for a total of 261, 23 under par, at the TPC Summlerin course, venue of the first of the four tournaments of the so-called Fall Series.

The now champion’s family moved from South Korea to the United States when he was eight years old. Na started playing golf a year later. Watney, who has won twice this year, recorded 67 strokes in the final round.

Tommy Gainey and Paul Goydos both finished with 66 strokes to tie for third place at 18 under par.

Vegas, who managed to climb to the lead during the first two rounds of the competition, recorded a card of 68 strokes on the last day to share with four other opponents the fourth place in the final classification, with a total of 267, 17 under par.
