The tournament played at the Aloha Golf Club on Saturday, September 6 put an end to the Andalucía Golf Challenge 2014 Circuit, which has been composed of six tournaments played in several of the best Andalusian golf courses: the aforementioned Marbella club plus Rio Real, Finca Cortesín, San Roque Club Old, La Reserva de Sotogrande and Flamingos Golf Club.
The weather was magnificent and the players were able to emulate, saving the distances, the great professionals of the European Tour who played in 2007, 2009 and 2012 the Open de Andalucía in this renowned course of Marbella’s Golf Valley. Aloha, which stands out for the lush nature that dotted the course, was, as usual, in excellent conditions.
The competition distributed flights to Turkey, with Turkish Airlines, for the winners of each category; as well as valuable golf equipment: clubs, bags, balls, etc., from Holiday Golf. The Somontano Denomination of Origin also offered its magnificent Gran Reserva wines for the first three classified in each category, and the Fairways and Blue store, located in Puerto Banús, donated an attractive gift for the first classified lady.
The Casino de Marbella gave away a voucher to all participants in the tournament, and the raffle held after the prize giving was wide and varied.
In the first category, Alberto Muñoz won with 40 points; second place went to Peer Falkenber, with the same score, and third place to Keith Boyson, with 37 points.
In the second category, Guillermo del Grosso won with 42 points, followed by Esteban Rodríguez, with 37, in second place, and Adrián Rebollo, also with 37, in third.
The prize for the top-ranked lady went to Kikka Gylling.
The longest drive for men was won by Steve Godfrey, the longest drive for ladies by Marianma del Turco, and the prize for the ball closest to the flag went to Manuel Aceña.
