Ana Peláez’s exhibition to win the Copa de Andalucía for the second consecutive year

Ana Pelaez from Malaga has starred in a convincing display to win for the second consecutive year the Women’s Andalusia Cup, which has been successfully held at the RCG Guadalmina course.
Ana Peláez thus reaffirms her status as a great reference of Spanish women’s golf, a few months before her access to professionalism, where she has already shown signs of her good options after winning in 2020 a tournament of the Santander Golf Tour and finishing third in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, where the best professionals of the European continent participated.
The two-time winner of the Copa de Andalucía, with a cumulative score of 10 under par, beat Ana Amalia Pina from Seville and Carolina López-Chacarra from Madrid, tied for second place, by a wide margin of 5 strokes.
Ana Peláez once again showed her characteristic grit and accuracy in the most important moments, leaving Ana Amalia Pina, with whom she shared the lead at the beginning of the day, with no options from the start of the last day. Six birdies neutralized by three bogeys led the champion to present an outstanding card of 69 strokes in a round where her main rival did not find the formula -one birdie and three bogeys- to follow in her wake.
Ana Amalia Pina’s 74 strokes were taken advantage of by Carolina López-Chacarra (2 under par) to catch up with her in the final classification, where Julia López, Andrea Revuelta, Cayetana Fernández, Marta García Llorca…, good exponents of the quarry of Spanish women’s golf headed by Ana Peláez, also found a good place.

Ana Pelaez, one of the main focuses of this competition, completed the first day with 70 strokes, 2 under par thanks to five birdies and three bogeys, the only participant to overcome a course she knows very well, where she recently finished third in the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de España professional.
Rocío Tejedo from Castellón, with 72 strokes, followed in the wake of the aforementioned Ana Peláez, as did a large group of five players who, tied for third place with 73, kept their chances of victory intact, especially considering that the pursuers were Sara Sarrión, Ana Amalia Pina, Andrea Revuelta, María Villanueva and Carolina López-Chacarra, all of them of proven quality.

The Sevillian Ana Amalia Pina acquired a strong role in the second round thanks to an outstanding round of 69 strokes that allowed her to catch up with Ana Pelaez from Malaga. Ana Amalia Pina, very inspired in the second 18 holes, shone with great intensity in the second round, when she signed 5 birdies without failure that minimized the two bogeys committed in the first.
Ana Pelaez, first leader of the tournament, held perfectly the type thanks, also, to a performance where she neutralized the mistakes of the first part of the tour with a much more successful second round.

Andrea Revuelta, Rocío Tejedo -both third, with the par total- and Carolina López-Chacarra, in her case fifth with 1 over par, remained in the lead.

At the end of the third day, a cut has been established, which has been surpassed by the top 50 and tied.

With 18 holes to go, both, at 7 under par, were the most brilliant challenge after dazzling the rest of the participants with rounds of 67 strokes (5 under par) that showed their ability to hit the target.
A single bogey, eclipsed by six impressive birdies, constituted Ana Amalia Pina’s proposal, answered by Ana Pelaez with another equally sensational round: a bogey more than compensated by four birdies and an eagle.
Behind, four and six strokes behind, were Carolina López-Chacarra and Andrea Revuelta from Madrid, two players that had to be taken into account for the exciting final round.
