Azahara Muñoz will be named tomorrow Adopted Daughter of Marbella by the plenary session of the City Council of this coastal city. Along with her will receive the distinction of Favorite Son the chef Dani Garcia and actor Pepón Nieto. The distinctions will be awarded unanimously by the four political groups represented in the municipal corporation.
The spokesman for the government team, Felix Romero, has glossed the career of the three winners and their contribution to the prestige of the city, and on the distinction to be awarded to Azahara Muñoz has explained that not being born in Marbella (in the municipal records appears as born in Malaga) can not be granted by regulation the title of Favorite Daughter, although it has ensured that it is the consideration of the municipal corporation. For that reason she will be distinguished as Adopted Daughter. “It is a person who has been made in our municipality, which is of our municipality and feel of our municipality, but for a formal matter will have to be adopted daughter,” said the mayor.
