Jack Nicklaus and John Daly have confirmed their presence as two of the most recognized names -for different reasons and merits, obviously- who will participate in the Fathers and Sons Challenge to be played in Florida on December 10 and 11. The 76-year-old Golden Bear will play alongside his son Jack II in his fifteenth participation in the event, while Daly, 50, will be paired with his son Little John.
Other competitors in the tournament, which will bring together twenty teams at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, will include defending champions Lanny and Tucker Wadkins, as well as Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Lee Treviño, Raymond Floyd, Nick Price and Vijay Singh. All will play with their sons, with the exception of Langer, who this year will have his daughter Christina as his playing partner.
To be eligible to play this tournament, a player must have won a Grande or The Player Championship, while his partner must meet the requirement of not being a player of the PGA Tour.
On another note, two stellar pairings have been announced for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, an unofficial PGA Tour tournament that changes from a normal one-player format to a two-man team format. World number one Jason Day will be paired with his good friend Rickie Fowler, and reigning Olympic champion Justin Rose will compete alongside 2016 British Open winner Henrik Stenson. The date will be in April.
