The players of the Real Club de Campo de Málaga Antonio Fernández and Blanca Hermana won yesterday the victory in the International Championship of Andalusia Senior 2015, hosted by Almenara Golf – in Sotogrande (San Roque) – and in which a total of 81 players participated. Blanca Hermana thus revalidates the title she already won in the last edition 2014.
Beginning with the men’s absolute classification, Antonio Fernandez -who on Saturday was in second place at the end of the first day- finished yesterday with a total of 170 strokes (82+88), which earned him the victory. The runner-up, with 171 strokes, was the player from Río Real, Carlos Miguel. Juan Montero (Real Club de Campo de Málaga) finished third with the same result.
In the absolute female classification, Blanca Hermana kept the wide advantage she had already achieved on Saturday and finished with a total of 171 strokes and 13 strokes difference over the second classified, Mª Dolores Jiménez (Aloha Golf). The third place went to the player of Guadalhorce Club de Golf, Mª Pilar van Dulken, with 188 strokes.
Juan Fernández de Argüeso, a player from Real Club Pineda de Sevilla, won the first scratch category with 173 strokes, while David France (Benalmádena Golf) and José Ramón Espinosa (Alborán Golf) were the first classified in the second and third categories with 196 and 206 strokes, respectively.
As for the ladies, the winner in the first scratch category was Deirdre Maher (191 strokes), and Gracia Segura was the winner in second, with 237.
Finally, moving on to the handicap classifications, Manuel Cardona (Granada Club de Golf), won the first men’s category with 160 net strokes. Meanwhile, John Robilliard (Real Club de Campo de Málaga) has led the second category with 164 strokes, and Germán Martínez (Club Hato Verde), has finished in first position in third, with 162 net strokes.
Pilar Bravo, with 163 strokes, and Palmira Román, with 181, were the first and second category handicap winners, respectively.
After the competition, the awards ceremony was presided over by Humberto Ybarra, Provincial Delegate of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation in Cadiz; Ricardo Andrades, Director of Almenara Golf; Antonio Gómez, Commercial Almenara Golf; Francisco Cervilla, President of the Seniors Committee of the RFGA; Sten Valentin, Vocal of the same committee; and Alfonso Barrionuevo, Chief Referee of the Tournament.
