During our day at Greenlife Golf, we saw how its Academy, located in the Driving Range of the complex, has one of the best facilities in the Costa del Sol and, day by day, continues to introduce technological improvements to complement the traditional teaching of this sport.
Among the latest advances we find the biomechanical study of the player’s swing, which allows detecting possible limitations or physical problems that may cause injuries or limit the ability to learn. “A high percentage of players have problems in the practice and learning of golf, due to limitations that could be solved with the proper analysis and diagnosis. Our service is perfect to help all these players overcome such obstacles and advance more effectively,” explains Francisco Galán, Director of Greenlife Golf.
The Club offers all players and members the possibility of a swing analysis in approximately 15 minutes and free of charge, with the only requirement of booking in advance. Walter Pitchford, co-director of the Academy, performs this biomechanical study of the player, using a super slow motion camera that records at 120 frames per second and allows to analyze the player’s swing through the V1 software, detecting those possible limitations or problems. Then, using the images of the recording, it explains to the player what these limitations are and the keys to solve them, in a very didactic and intuitive way. In case of more serious problems or limitations caused by medical problems, Greenlife refers the player to the specialists of the Foot & Sports Clinic, with which it collaborates.
Greenlife Golf’s new service also serves to help players with major problems even with prosthetics or who have undergone delicate operations. “Customers are very appreciative of this new service from Greenlife. Most comment that it is an excellent way to analyze the swing, as it allows them to visualize what they are really doing and leave aside what they thought they were doing. In addition, Walter is an excellent professional who offers them the diagnosis in a very didactic and pleasant way, solving in most cases problems that have been dragging on for years of playing, in just a few minutes”, explains the Club’s director.
NEW FITTING CENTER
The improvement of the game is not only achieved with the improvement of the swing, an error in the choice of the material used, both in the specifications and in the adaptation to the physiognomy of the player, negatively affects the game.
For this reason, the Greenlife Golf Academy has put into operation in December a Fitting Center with the best brands on the market (Titleist, Callaway, Wilson, Taylor Made, Bridgestone, etc.). Greenlife Golf customers and external visitors can try in these facilities of the Club the latest products of the different brands, assisted by their professionals and can make a personalized Fitting in which they are recommended the specifications of the clubs to use (length, shaft, loft, lie, weights, etc). The process to make the reservation is very simple, just choose the dates on which the client wishes to stay and the system will present the different alternatives available, always with the best prices. All you have to do is select the desired option and in a few seconds the operation is completed. The client will receive an e-mail voucher with the reservation code and the establishment will charge the first night as a guarantee of the reservation. This amount will be refunded if the cancellation is made 48 hours in advance.

The meal was a great experience. This restaurant, which has had a Michelin star since 2005 for its gastronomic dinner, offers a lighter menu in the morning for golf players. The menu is very reasonably priced and has the unmistakable gastronomic stamp of chef Diego del Río, one of the most prestigious chefs in Andalusia.
