Grenada

Granada is a land of beautiful contrasts where in the same day you can ski in the mountains and sunbathe on one of the beaches of its extensive coastline. It is also one of the Andalusian provinces with the greatest historical richness, in which the Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures have left an everlasting mark.

The city of Granada was the last bastion of Islam in the Iberian Peninsula, and the Alhambra, Spain’s most visited monument, was the last palatial enclave of the Nasrid kingdom. The Alhambra includes the Alcazaba, the Patio de los Leones, the Generalife and the Palace of Charles V, among other architectural wonders, which are perfectly combined with the incomparable gardens of the entire complex of buildings.

Apart from this majestic enclosure, the capital of the province offers the visitor an old town whose narrow streets seem to take the visitor back to remote times. The Jewish Quarter is a must-see. Its narrow streets are impregnated with the colorful small stores where  find local crafts.

But Granada is much more than its capital, and the so-called Costa Tropical, which includes the tourist towns of Motril, Almuñécar and Salobreña, stands out in this regard.

In addition, Sierra Nevada is the southernmost ski resort in Europe. This sport can be practiced, thanks to the climate of the area, from autumn to spring. Its snow-capped peaks are a beautiful spectacle that, on clear days, can be seen from the coast. In Granada you can perfectly combine a beach, golf and snow vacation, without forgetting visits to the rich historical heritage of the capital.

The province has three golf courses: Granada Club de Golf, Los Moriscos and Santa Clara Golf.

Santa Clara Golf Granada

Located ten minutes from the historic center of Granada and less than thirty minutes from the Costa Tropical and the Sierra Nevada ski resort, is this beautiful 18-hole course. The course, of 6,598 meters, is characterized by its wide greens and with a lot of movement, as well as by the diversity of obstacles in the layout that offer a great diversity of shots.

The golf course, inaugurated in 2006, was built respecting the natural environment of native fauna and vegetation, resulting in a fantastic meeting point for golf enthusiasts. The club has a golf academy and a six-hole pitch & putt course.

The majestic clubhouse, with a complete spa (indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, Turkish bath, sauna) and a restaurant with a splendid terrace overlooking the 18th green that offers stunning views of the Sierra Nevada.

Granada Golf Club

The field is located in a unique location: on the border between the fertile plain and the dry land of Granada, surrounded by small hills, near the village of Las Gabias, about 8 kilometers from Granada. The field occupies a gentle hill, like an elongated islet in the middle of the fertile plain. On the side facing the interior valley there are two lakes, and a third one is located on the opposite side. The total course is not particularly difficult, except for fairways 15, 16 and 17, which are affected by the two large lakes that are the source of supply for irrigation of the playing field.

Los Moriscos Golf Club

It is a links type course located about eight kilometers from Motril, in a sports complex near the beach. Los Moriscos Club de Golf presents a flat surface adorned with slender palm trees and sugar canes. Generous greens and wide lakes characterize the course of this Granada course. Designed by the company Ibergolf and Manuel Piñero, the Los Moriscos course was opened to the public in 1974.
