He has two holes-in-one in one round and is 81 years old!

In the tempestuous world of golf, sometimes things happen that seem miraculous. And a few days ago one of them happened. Because if it is extraordinary to make a hole in one in a round, to make two holes in one in a six-hole stretch of the same round is something almost miraculous, and if on top of that the person who performs such a feat is 81 years old! we could be talking about something close to the supernatural.

Well, that’s what happened in Arkansas to the elderly Chuck Miller, who was playing on the Cortez Course in Hot Springs when he holed the 12th hole, a 122-meter par 3, straight off the tee, and then did the same on the 125-meter 17th. In both cases, Miller accurately used a 6-iron.

“When the first one went in on the 12th hole, I was really excited,” Miller said. “It was a great shot, bounced once or twice and went in the hole. We all jumped up and down and screamed.”

Miller admitted that the second was “a total fluke.” Here’s how he described it: “I hit my tee shot on 17. It didn’t fly much and hit the ground only 70 or 80 yards off the tee. Since the ground was dry and the fairway sloped down, the ball kept rolling. It went past the front left bunker protecting the green and rolled onto the green. Once the ball hit the hole, one of my playing partners yelled out that it was going in, and boy did it go in. I was thrilled but couldn’t believe that such a bad shot ended up in the hole.”

Miller is known as the “Traveler.” He once visited and played golf in every state in his country for a year, writing a book about his trip. Miller said he had only made one other hole-in-one in his life before, 45 years ago.
