La Monacilla hosts the first round of the International Women’s Circuit

The team formed by Mª del Carmen Gómez (Finca Cortesín), Carmen Piñero (Zaudín), Rosario Díaz (Zaudín) and Mª Nieves Rivero de Aguilar (Real Club Pineda de Sevilla) won the first round of Zone A of the International Women’s Circuit of Andalusia 2015, which was held at the La Monacilla course (Huelva).

Fourteen teams of 4 players participated in the competition, playing 18 holes in Stableford Individual Handicap mode.

The winners finished with an accumulated 108 points, 5 points ahead of the team formed by Carmen Albala (Islantilla Golf), Pilar Berdejo (El Rompido), Pilar Gómez Pando (Zaudín) and Carmen Alberola (Zaudín), who came in second place.

Third place, nine points behind the winners, went to the team made up of Rosario Seda (AEGA), Susan Schuett, Teresa Elder and Maribel Jiménez, the last three from Zaudín.

The awards ceremony was presided over by Candelaria Flores, President of the Women’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Mª Carmen Carmona, Member of the Women’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; and Ricardo Bescansa, Director of La Monacilla.

The Andalusian Women’s Tour is divided into two zones. Throughout the season, three 18-hole rounds will be played in each of them, with the sum of the three best rounds scoring in each one.

The final will be played over 36 holes in Stroke Play Individual Handicap at Rio Real on June 10 and 11.

On Saturday, March 14, Santa Clara Granada will host the first meeting of the Saturday group (Zone B), in which 19 other teams will participate.
