Lamborghini Urus, the fastest SUV in the world

It is certainly not a car for any mortal. First of all, he must have a comfortable economic position, that is, he must not have any problem to make ends meet while eating lobster every day. Secondly, he must be used to tame a beast of more than 600 horsepower. Thirdly, you must not be a shy person, since on the back of your exuberant mount you are going to be the object of many looks, especially the car, but surely also you.

If you meet at least these requirements, you are one of the aspirants to acquire a Lamborghini Urus. This is a powerful SUV from the Italian firm known for building some of the most beautiful and powerful supercars in the world, such as the Aventador and the Huracán and, in its day, the Diablo, the Murciélago and the Gallardo. This is not the first Lamborghini off-road, but the second, although the original (LM 002, marketed between 1986 and 1992) had nothing to do with today’s SUVs, but looked like a robust off-roader with straight lines.

The Urus is something else, it could almost be defined as a supercar raised above the asphalt. With aggressive curvaceous lines, with a coupe-like rear drop, with a four-seater interior that conveys luxury everywhere, this superSUV delivers power and acceleration figures out of the ordinary not only for an off-roader but for any vehicle. Its 650-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine catapults it from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds (0-200 in 12.8), reaching a top speed of 305 km/h, making it the fastest SUV on the market.

So well received by the motoring press that the Urus has won Auto Motor & Sport’s “Best Cars 2020” award in the SUV/Off-road vehicle category. With nearly 103,000 entries from readers of thirteen car magazines in Europe and China, the award is highly regarded in the industry and among motoring enthusiasts.

And the reception has not only been good not only by the specialized press, but also by motor enthusiasts who have a high economic power. It is clear that with the Urus the Italian brand has hit the mark. Not in vain, Lamborghini sold a total of 4,962 units of this model in 2019, an increase of 182% over the previous year, with 1,761 units sold, which was already a considerable figure for this type of superSUVs.

It has thus become Lamborghini’s best-selling model, doubling in sales the second, the Huracán supercar, with 2,139 units in 2019.

The price of this beast of asphalt and roads is 240,000 euros.
