Lukas Pany and Teresa Toscano, Andalusian Champions at La Monacilla

Lukas Pany and Teresa Toscano: Andalusian golf already has new champions, after the completion yesterday of the Absolute International Championships of Andalusia in the Huelva course of La Monacilla (Aljaraque, Huelva). They were three very intense days, in which more than eighty players began the fight for the victory. After the second round, there was a cut that passed half of the best positioned participants.

There were no changes in the women’s classification, which Teresa Toscano was already leading on Saturday at the end of the second lap. Lukas Pany, meanwhile, managed to row throughout the competition and move up positions, until he took the win.

The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina player began the first day with a correct card of 76 strokes, which left him far from the top of the table. On Saturday climbed positions to be in second place, thanks to an excellent round of 71 strokes, which today has repeated again to finish with a total of 218 (+2), and two ahead of Zak Karkaletsos and Pablo Heredia. Both have finished with 220 strokes, but -taking into account the difference in handicap- the title of runner-up went to Zak, who signed on Sunday a spectacular round of 69 strokes.

Meanwhile, Teresa Toscano defended the first place already conquered on Saturday and, with rounds of 76, 73 and 74 strokes, was made with the triumph thanks to a total of 223 strokes (+7). The local player finished the first round in second place, three strokes behind Marina Escobar, first leader of the competition, which was proclaimed runner-up of Andalusia with +13.

As for the handicap classifications, Ana Amalia Pina and Ignacio Gómez Osuna were winners with 210 and 213 net strokes, respectively.
