Events Dropate, in collaboration with other sponsors including ‘Bodegas Nubori’, organized the II Golf Tournament ‘Toreros vs Ganaderos’ which was held today at the Real Club de Golf ‘La Herrería’, located in the Madrid town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. For the second consecutive year, the bullfighters won the final trophy.
The tournament had a charitable character and in this case, through the CRV Foundation (which serves homes, nursing homes and medical emergencies), the Order of Malta’s Social Canteens in Spain collected the amount of 4,000 euros from two of its representatives: the Honorary President Luis Guillermo de Perinat y Elío ‘Marqués de Campo Real’ and the Illustrious Mrs. Aline Finat y Riva ‘Countess of Villaflor’.
The event, which was held last year in Seville, repeated the success of participation with almost a hundred players. In this edition, the cast was composed of more than 50 professionals from the bullfighting world, including bullfighters and ranchers, as well as golf enthusiasts who also wanted to participate and enjoy a magnificent almost spring-like day.
Among the most popular bullfighters present were Enrique Ponce, Pepín Liria, Óscar Higares, Manuel Escribano and Joselito Adame, among many others, as well as bullfarmers such as Juan Pedro Domecq, Carlos Núñez, Juan Pablo Corona, Jerónimo Astolfi and Fernando Bautista. The participants enjoyed a full day of golf as well as a lunch and the subsequent presentation of trophies to the winners of the tournament.
The victory went to the team of bullfighters, captained by Santi Luna, who collected the trophy that accredits them as winners of this second edition. In the individual section, the scratch classification was led by the matador of bullfighting
Manuel Escribano, while the best drive went to Sergio Trapote and the best aproch, to the bullfighter Octavio García, ‘El Payo’.
Courtesy of several commercial brands such as Bodegas Nubori, main sponsor of the event, and also Mira la Marela or Toroshopping, Campo de Golf Nuevo Portil and the Sevillian restaurant Abades de Triana, several prizes were raffled to the participants. Also the Real Club ‘La Herrería’ itself gave green fees to enjoy its facilities. Previously, Cárnicas Segundino offered a picnic to all participants.
The rancher Juan Pablo Corona, along with the president of the CRV Foundation, Marcela López Enríquez did not want to miss the opportunity to honor the bullfighter Enrique Ponce for his 25 years of alternative. For the occasion, they presented him with an original cake made by the Majadahonda pastry firm ‘Bea Tartas con Arte’.
