One more summer, as has been the custom for 9 years, Islantilla Golf Resort and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) jointly organized its Summer Tournament to raise funds against this disease. The event took place at the Resort facilities, where a large group of personalities from the world of culture and entertainment were present for a weekend, in what has become an unmissable event in the summer social life of Huelva and Andalusia.
This summer’s line-up included Valderrama, Arcángel, Cantores de Híspalis, Los Cucas, Radio Macandé, Decai, Rafa González Serna and José Manuel Soto, as well as the comedian Manu Sánchez. Presented by Pepe da Rosa and El Yuyu, they performed on the stage set up on the hotel’s golf course in front of more than 500 guests.
The program also included the now customary mini tournament for couples, in which most of the celebrities had their first contact with the world of golf. In addition to the artists who made up the line-up of performances at the evening gala, other popular faces joined this initiative, such as the right-handed Víctor Puerto and Miguel Ángel Perera, the designer Tony Benítez and the popular artist Charo Reina. In addition, the official golf tournament for federated players was held in parallel on Saturday morning.
For Edmundo Hernandez, director of Islantilla Golf Resort and spokesman for the organization, “it has been a success, and we are happy to see how such an important event grows in this way, especially now that we are in the prelude to
of the tenth anniversary”. For Hernandez, “the highlight of this weekend is undoubtedly the response of the artists, who lend their talent for a good cause”.
