The team formed by Ana María Vila, María Luisa Artés, Ana Mena and Ana Isabel Irimia has been proclaimed winner of the Final of the International Women’s Tour of Andalusia, which has been held over two days at the spectacular course Los Lagos de Mijas Golf.
The quartet that was ultimately crowned champion of this edition took the lead from the opening round after finishing with a cumulative 103 points.
On the second and final day, the team, which already in 2011, with Deirdre Maher in its ranks instead of Ana Maria Vila, achieved the first position in Almenara Golf Resort, certified a new victory with a total of 196 points.
Second place, three points behind the winners, went to the team of Rosario Fernández, María Pilar Bravo, Concepción Sánchez and Toñi García, who staged the comeback of the day with a great choral performance in the last 18 holes.
Parallel Tournament
As usual, once again this year, a parallel event was held at the same time as the Final, in which 30 players participated. The first place went to María Pilar van Dulken thanks to an excellent second round of 36 points, the best result of the day.
Next, Blanca Hermana accumulated 66 points and was only one point away from the final victory.
Once these two magnificent days of golf were over, the distribution of prizes began with the presence of Candelaria Flores, President of the Women’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Lorenzo Pérez, Managing Director of Mijas Golf International; Ignacio Iturbe, Provincial Delegate in Malaga of the RFGA and Assistant to the President; María Murillo, Member of the Women’s Committee of the RFGA; and Eugenio Alises, Chief Referee of the tournament.
