Minor Hotels and NH Hotel Group to manage Villa Padierna Palace hotel

Minor Hotels and NH Hotel Group announce the signing of an agreement to operate the Villa Padierna Palace hotel, located on the Costa del Sol, in the municipality of Benahavís, adjacent to Marbella. The property, owned by the Villa Padierna Group, will be operated with immediate effect under a variable lease agreement. Following the acquisition of NH Hotel Group by Minor Hotels in October 2018, this agreement will be the first sign of the integration of both companies’ brands, as Villa Padierna will be relaunched in the coming months under Minor Hotels’ luxury brand, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.

Minor Hotels and NH Hotel Group have begun to successfully implement the main strategies of their integration, bringing all of their hotel brands under a single corporate umbrella, now with a presence in more than 50 countries around the world. Two key initiatives of this integration include the transfer earlier this year of Minor Hotels’ hotel operations in Portugal and Brazil to NH Hotel Group, with the aim of leveraging economies of scale and benefiting from each group’s geographic expertise in each region. In this way, both groups are aligned in order to capitalize on the best opportunities for brand expansion and hotel rebranding. The signing of the Villa Padierna Palace hotel, which will be managed by NH Hotel Group and converted to the Anantara brand under the supervision of Minor Hotels, is the first milestone in the materialization of this joint strategy, which combines the leadership and experience of both companies.

The Costa del Sol hotel will be relaunched under the name Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort, becoming the first Anantara in Spain and the second in Europe (the first being the Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort in Portugal, launched two years ago).

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, commented that. “we are pleased to introduce our Anantara luxury brand in Spain with the upcoming launch of Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort which, at the same time, demonstrates our commitment to integrate the brand portfolio and operational expertise of Minor Hotels and NH Hotel Group across the broad and growing joint footprint.”

Ramón Aragonés, CEO of NH Hotel Group, noted that. This agreement is an excellent step forward in our integration with Minor Hotels and the first opportunity for NH Hotel Group to bring to Europe a luxury hotel concept that connects travelers with authentic experiences in privileged destinations.

Three golf courses

Surrounded by three golf courses, the Resort is located in the heart of the ‘golden triangle’ – formed by Marbella, Benahavís and Estepona – and offers a wide range of luxurious rooms that breathe art in every corner, unique culinary experiences and exclusive spaces for relaxation, health and sports. The property, designed mainly by the English architect Ed Gilbert, is decorated in the style of the legendary Tuscan palazzos, and boasts more than 1,200 original works of art. Thanks to the 130 rooms, suites and various villas offered by the property, guests can enjoy a variety of luxurious accommodations. The spacious Deluxe Rooms, decorated in raw tones that inspire maximum relaxation and feature travertine marble elements, offer spectacular views of the property’s golf course, gardens or swimming pools. The new proposal also features different types of suites that offer guests unforgettable rooms with ample spaces, including terraces with exclusive views. In addition, in many of them visitors will be able to enjoy some of the property’s most valuable works of art.

The Resort also offers the possibility of staying in one of its spacious villas, which combine the exclusivity of a private residence with the comfort of a large luxury hotel. One of the most emblematic is undoubtedly Villa Obama, renamed with this name after the former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, chose this space to spend her vacations in Spain in 2010.

Inspired by the distinctive character of local Spanish gastronomy, the Resort offers a high-end culinary experience, conceived to allow guests to get to know, rediscover and connect with the destination. With impeccable quality standards, the hotel offers diverse gastronomic proposals to suit every taste and every moment, including La Veranda, La Loggia, Club del Mar, Hole 55, The Grill Club, Eddy’s Bar and La Pérgola.

In addition to the gastronomic proposal, the Resort has at its guests’ disposal all kinds of exceptional spaces surrounded by spectacular gardens and two swimming pools. The Villa Padierna Wellness spa, one of the largest spas of its kind in Europe, has a large team of experienced therapists and offers a wide range of customizable treatments. The Villa Padierna Wellness facilities are completed by a fully equipped gymnasium.

Villa Padierna Golf Club offers the most avant-garde facilities for the practice of this sport. Golf lovers can choose to play among three courses located in the surroundings of the resort -Flamingos Golf, Alterini Golf and Tramores Golf-, as well as the Tramores Golf Academy by Michael Campbell. The Resort also has a space known as the Racquet Club that offers more than 22,000 square meters for sports activities, including two tennis courts, 11 paddle tennis courts and two croquet courts.

The Resort also offers the latest and most efficient technological systems for the celebration of any event, corporate or social. With more than 2,000 square meters available for events, including eight meeting rooms, five terraces and a Roman amphitheater with capacity for 400 people, the hotel is consolidated as the perfect space for any celebration on the Costa del Sol.
