Moreno, Lopez and Muñoz win the Andalusian Senior in Cordoba

The Cordoba Country Club hosted the eighth qualifying round of the Andalusian Senior Circuit, which was played over 18 holes under the Stableford handicap modality. The facilities of the Cordoba course welcomed the 81 players who participated in the event, which was played in three different categories: one for ladies and two for gentlemen.

Local players have shone in the ladies category. Thus, Asunción Moreno has led the ranking with 35 points, the same as Fuensanta Donoso, who follows her in second place. In third place was María Reyes Ezquerra, also a player of the Club de Campo de Córdoba, with 34 points.

Carlos López, from Granada Club de Golf, was the winner of the first men’s category, with 43 points, ahead of Juan Manuel La-Chica (also from Granada Club de Golf) and Neal Naughton (Andalusian Seniors Golf Association), both with 39 points.

The victory in the second men’s category went to the also local player, Antonio Muñoz, who obtained 43 points. The silver, with 40 points, went to Juan del Valle (Pozoblanco) and Carlos Juárez (also from Club de Golf Pozoblanco) won the bronze with an accumulated 38 points.

After lunch, the awards ceremony took place, during which Francisco Cervilla, President of the Seniors Committee and Vocal of Foreigners of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, thanked the Club de Campo de Córdoba for the excellent reception they have given to the Circuit.

The last qualifying round of this 2014 Andalusian Senior Circuit will be held on October 18 at the Arcos Golf course in Cadiz. To close the 2014 calendar, the Grand Final will be played at Mijas Golf on November 8.
