Outstanding closing of the qualifying phase of the X Circuito Andalucía Golf Challenge in Zaudín

The magnificent course of the Zaudín Golf Club, in the municipalities of Tomares and Bormujos, very close to Seville capital, has hosted with great success the last round of the Andalucía Golf Challenge 2020 Destination Dominican Republic Ocean’s 4 Bahía Príncipe, a circuit of open amateur championships which this year celebrates its tenth edition and which has been played in sixteen courses, among which are several of the most prestigious in the country. This circuit has as its grand final prize five nine-day trips to the Dominican Republic including flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Ocean’s 4, Teeth of The Dog and Punta Espada.

This was the first time that the Zaudín Golf Club participates in the circuit organized by the Andalucía Golf / España Golf magazine. On this occasion the weather did not accompany the sports day, which took place under the rain until twelve o’clock noon. Despite this, the participants enjoyed the great course designed by Gary Player (this Sevillian course is the last design made in Spain by the legendary South African player, winner of nine majors, including three Augusta Masters and three British Opens).

The Porsche Seville dealership was present at the tournament (it was co-sponsor of the tournament) with an exhibition of vehicles on the field and giving a gift to all participants.

Apart from the prizes (wines D.O. Somontano, sports equipment from Holiday Golf, etc.), the first three classified in each category plus the scratch winner obtained a place to play the grand final of the Circuit (Atalaya Old, November 21) and thus opt for one of the five nine-day trips to the Dominican Republic. At the end of the tournament, a raffle of gifts was held.

Regarding the sporting results, in the first category, the victory went to Raúl Marfil Cuevas (40), followed by Jesús C. Regalado Corisco (37) and Antonio Pérez Acevedo (36).

In the second category, Manuel José García López won with 42 points, followed by Luis Lázaro Cuesta with 39 points, while third place went to Álvaro Pérez Temprano, who also scored 39 points.

In scratch category, the winner was Eduardo Martínez-Bone Cabello, with 35 scratch points.

The special prize for closest ball to flag went to Antonio Pérez Acevedo, and those corresponding to longest drive were won by Isabel Esteban Garmendia and Antonio Pérez Acevedo.
