Real de La Quinta: one of the most impressive luxury residential resorts on the Costa del Sol

With more than 200 hectares and nestled in a beautiful natural setting in the municipality of Benahavís almost bordering Marbella, just ten minutes from Puerto Banús, is beginning to take shape what will undoubtedly become one of the most attractive residential resorts on the Costa del Sol: Real de La Quinta.

Over the last ten years, La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario has been carrying out important infrastructure and adaptation works on this unique estate to turn it into the five-star urbanization of reference on the Mediterranean coast.

The project is being developed with the aim of building a luxury residential resort perfectly integrated into the natural environment, respecting the surrounding ecosystem as much as possible. The use of renewable energies and care for the environment are priorities in this sense, and proof of this is that Real de La Quinta is a pioneer in Spain in the execution of an urbanization project under the parameters for obtaining the Breeam sustainable construction certificate.

Regarding the residential aspect, both the apartments and the villas of Real de La Quinta will enjoy the best panoramic views of the sea, the golf course, the protected natural area of Sierra de las Nieves, the lake of Istan and the characteristic Pico de la Concha that rises imposingly behind Marbella.

Apart from the real estate development, the resort contemplates the construction of a 12-hole golf course, a luxury boutique hotel, restaurants, sports areas, health and beauty center, shopping area, equestrian club and tennis and paddle tennis courts. There is also an owner’s service department to provide residents with any type of service they may require (home maintenance, cleaning, any kind of management, etc.).

But undoubtedly one of the star attractions of the development will be the immense artificial lake located in a privileged area in around which the social and sports life of the resort will revolve. The lake will be used for rowing and sailing activities, will have a beach area and will have a swimming pool attached to it. The golf course will run around the lake, as will paths for walking and running.

Real de La Quinta will prioritize the achievement of maximum privacy and easy accessibility through different entrances that will be equipped with access control and security, one of them from La Quinta Golf and the rest from Nueva Andalucía, which will facilitate communication with the points of greatest interest of the Costa del Sol: Puerto Banús, Marbella and Malaga, being only 40 minutes away from the airports of Malaga and Gibraltar.

The urban design studies carried out by La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario are taking shape in the development of this urbanization in which we can already see important advances. The experience that La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario has acquired over the last thirty years, during which it has developed La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa, is a guarantee of the success of the new resort, which is born with the aim of becoming a reference at European level.

High level services

“Our Real Estate Group,” says its CEO, Borja Pascual, “stands out for having been in the past, continuing in the present and remaining in the future, offering high-level services to our clients at all times, from the very first minute they reserve their home. This is a guarantee for the buyers, since this is a long term project, from 20 to 30 years (approximately 1,300 apartments and 200 villas), “and that is very important for us, since this way we communicate to the people our commitment that we are going to be here all that time, they know how the whole project will develop and they have the guarantee of a company that has not just appeared, but that has been here for more than thirty years”.

When asked about what differentiates this new resort from other existing luxury resorts on the Costa del Sol, he points out that, “among other things, the variety of facilities and services for the enjoyment of leisure, to provide maximum fun options for the whole family”.

Regarding the artificial lake, he assures that, with almost four hectares of water, it will be the largest in Spain. “It will be 400 meters long and an average of 80 meters wide and will have a swimming pool area and a beach area and can be used for non-motorized nautical activities, i.e. kayaking, paddle surfing, windsurfing, sailing, etc. The lake will be a unique area of this resort”.

First real estate phase

The first real estate phase of Real de La Quinta, called Olivos, has begun construction and the first homes will be delivered at the end of next year. It is an apartment complex with luxury qualities, large terraces and fantastic sea views. Although it has only recently begun to be marketed, more than 60 percent of the 90 homes that make up this first real estate development have already been sold to a mainly European international clientele. The prices -given the high quality of the properties- are very competitive and start at 390,000 euros.

The apartments are characterized by a modern architectural style with a very personal touch. “We wanted to get away from those square blocks, which is what you see nowadays on the Costa del Sol and in almost all of Spain,” explains the CEO of La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario. “That is why we include elements of the estate, so that the houses are contextualized in the place where they are located. We are using the estate’s own stone and natural elements such as wood on the façade, which generates a more organic architecture, more integrated into the environment where it is located. Our aim is to give the houses their own personality.

Sustainability

Becoming the first resort in Europe to hold the prestigious Breeam certificate for environmental and social sustainability is another incentive for future residents of the development. “What we are looking for,” says Pascual, “is the minimization of the resources you need for construction and for the use of the housing. For example, water for irrigating green areas must be regenerated from the water used by the homes for domestic use or stored rainwater. The use of solar energy will also be promoted and the best insulation will be used in the construction of the houses. Another requirement for obtaining the certificate is that the suppliers must be local, located at a maximum distance of 80 kilometers from the resort, and another requirement is that they must make reference to the treatment of waste from the construction site.

“With this certification,” he adds, “we offer a quality plus to our customers, who will have lower costs thanks to energy efficiency, we also comply with the company’s philosophy of excellence and we are also one step ahead of what current regulations require.”

Unique golf course

One of the singularities of Real de la Quinta will undoubtedly be its golf course, as it will be the first twelve-hole course to be built in Spain. Designed by three-time World Champion Manolo Piñero, the course will be located around the large lake of the urbanization. As Pascual explains, “the course will have six fairways and two greens for each fairway, so that you can play either one round of six holes, two rounds of twelve different holes or a third round to complete eighteen”.

“There are more and more people,” continues the CEO of La Quinta Grupo Inmobiliario, “who have less and less time to play golf and, instead of dedicating five hours to eighteen holes or two and a half to nine holes, prefer to play an hour and a half before going to work, and the good thing is that these twelve holes will allow you to use all the clubs in the bag because the course will have par 3, 4 and 5”.
