
The Senior Circuit of Andalusia put the finishing touch to its 2016 season last Saturday with the celebration of its grand finale at Guadalhorce Club de Golf, where a hundred players played 18 holes under stableford handicap in five categories: three gentlemen and two ladies.
The players enjoyed a splendid day of golf, which concluded with a lunch and prize-giving ceremony at the beautiful facilities of the Malaga club.
As for the winners, and starting with the first category of gentlemen, the triumph was for the federated by the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, José Duarte, who has accumulated 39 stableford points, one ahead of the player of the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, George Trowbridge, who has occupied the second place. The third place went to Antonio Gil -also federated by Real Club de Golf Guadalmina- with 37 points.
For his part, the player of the Club de Golf Jaén, Miguel Ángel Madero, has been the first classified in the second category of gentlemen, thanks to a total of 44 points. After him, and with 37 points, has finished Francisco Javier García, federated by Baviera Golf. In third place was Carlos Ramón de Fata, federated by La Siesta, which has delivered 36 points.
Moving on to the third category of gentlemen, Juan Benitez (Andalusian Seniors Golf Association) has won the prize for first place thanks to a total of 42 points. Equal with 37 points, John Robilliard (Real Club de Campo de Málaga) and Antonio Espinosa (Real Club de Campo de Málaga) took the prize for second and third place, respectively.
In the first category of ladies, the triumph -with 40 points- was for the local player Mª Pilar van Dulken, who was five points ahead of Pilar Bravo, federated by Granada Club de Golf. The podium was completed, with 34 points, the player of the Playa Serena Golf Club, Elisabeth Escuin.
Finally, Rocío Hernández, also a member of Granada Club de Golf, was the winner in the second ladies’ category, with 39 points. With 37 points, Julia Torres, federated by Club de Golf La Envia, finished in second position, with third place going to the player from Guadalhorce, Maureen Rittener, with 34 points.
Along with today’s winners, the winners of the 2016 Senior Ranking were also awarded in this final: George Trowbridge (1st Gentlemen category), Francisco Guirado (2nd Gentlemen category), José Mª Mora (3rd Gentlemen category), Mohanie Sookdeo /1st Ladies category) and Rocío Hernández (2nd Ladies category).
After the competition, the awards ceremony was attended by Francisco Cervilla, President of the Senior Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Salvador Alvarez, Director of Guadalhorce Club de Golf; Lynn Fisher and Gonzalo Garcia, members of the Senior Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation.
