The new gastronomic offer, protagonist at La Cala Resort

La Cala Resort faces a new stage with the ambition of becoming the tourist and sports reference in southern Spain. To this end, the resort has renewed its management direction, which has been in the hands of Sean Corte Real for the last two months, and has just signed Daniel Peinado (both in the photo), the well-known chef of AOVE (Virgin Olive Oil), with whom it wants to reach a new level of gastronomic excellence.

La Cala Resort climbs a new step and continues the path of excellence started a few years ago, with the incorporation of Sean Corte Real, as the new director of the resort. A premiere to which is added the recent arrival of Daniel García Peinado, the famous chef of AOVE (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), to relaunch the culinary offer of the resort. The new head of the resort has an extensive worldwide experience in the field of luxury resorts. His commitment is to give La Cala Resort a greater international dimension and to continue raising the level of quality achieved so far. Secondly, it seeks to increase customer satisfaction by responding to their expectations and the search for experiences.

To share this new stage, Sean Corte Real has received a group of specialized media (press, radio, television and bloggers) and collaborators, travel agents and incentive companies to whom it has detailed the new direction taken by the resort and the changes it wants to promote to place it in a leading position within the tourism offer of Andalusia.

During the presentation, he emphasized that “we have a fantastic product and one of the best spas on the Costa del Sol”. In this sense, he assured that “our goal is always to improve”. Corte Real recalled that next year La Cala Resort commemorates its 30th anniversary and reported on the latest improvements to the golf facilities, such as the fine-tuning of “the America course with new bunkers and greens”. “The idea,” he said, “is to have it fully ready by next September”. This will be followed by the Asia and Europe fields, which will also benefit from a major upgrade.

For his part, the new Executive Chef, Daniel García Peinado, has offered a selection of tapas in the El Laurel restaurant of the Club House, which anticipate the style he wants to develop. “The idea is to update the gastronomic offer to the new times,” he said. However, this renovation will be personalized in each of the three restaurants. Thus, will respect the fast casual cuisine that characterizes the Club House but with “a much healthier tone”. At La Bodega, he will insist on the concept of Andalusian-inspired tapas but “using virgin olive oil as a base”. Finally, at La Terraza, the most gourmet restaurant of all, “my philosophy is based on my cuisine based on Aove, but with nods to global cuisine, since the public is mainly international”. In general, Peinado’s cuisine revolves around four fundamental axes: Aove, local products, and a healthy Mediterranean diet.
