The Spanish Association of Golf Courses and Golfspain join forces for Spanish golf

The Spanish Golf Courses Association (AECG) and Golfspain, a leading technology company in the golf course management sector in Spain, have signed a collaboration agreement to enhance the growth options of this sector, which in our country generates more than 2,000 million euros annually.

Claudia Hernández, President of AECG, and Ricardo Pascual, CEO of Golfspain, have been in charge of signing the two-year agreement, through which Golfspain becomes a reference sponsor of AECG to contribute to the strengthening of the golf sector in our country.

AECG is a non-profit business organization, founded at the end of 2015 and set up to defend the interests of golf courses, currently representing more than one hundred and forty of them, regardless of their legal conformation: sports associations, commercial companies, etc.

For its part, Golfspain has contributed more than two million euros to Spanish golf clubs during 2018 thanks to its activity as an online green fee booking Tour Operator, a very significant turnover that highlights the vigor of this Internet sales channel.

In this period of time, Golfspain has allowed the sale of more than 40,000 greenfees online as a result of the investment made in online promotion throughout Europe in the most important golfing countries, which contributes to bring golfers to the Spanish golf clubs that otherwise would not have our country as a preferred destination.

Ricardo Pascual, CEO of Golfspain, considers that “the agreement signed with the Spanish Association of Golf Courses is a logical alliance as both entities seek to strengthen the golf sector as much as possible”.

In our case,” continues Ricardo Pascual, “our desire is to give back to the Spanish golf world what it has given us over all these years, supporting initiatives as important as those led by AECG. In that sense, we are proud of the trust they have placed in us”.
