The American pair formed by Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland have won the World Cup, played at Mission Hills Golf Club, China, where the Spanish duo, formed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Álvaro Quirós, finished in ninth position. After eleven years of drought, the United States scored its 24th victory in this trophy thanks to a correct final round in which Kuchar and Woodland scored 67 strokes. With a final score of 24 under par, the Americans won by two strokes ahead of England (Ian Poulter/Justin Rose) and Germany (Martin Kaymer/Alex Cejka). The best round of the day was for the English pair, who presented a tremendous final card of 63 strokes. The cross on this last day was for the powerful Irish team, which despite having Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell could not hold the lead and fell to fourth place. For their part, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Alvaro Quiros recorded 67 impacts in their last card and finished five strokes behind the winning duo. “We really connected. It’s great to win for the United States,” Woodland said.
