Between November 2 and 5, 2013 Valle Romano Golf, in Estepona, will host the second qualifying round of the Qualifying School to enter the European Tour next year 2014. This has been confirmed by the European Tour after recently visiting the Valle Romano golf course, located in a privileged place on the Costa del Sol.
Valle Romano Golf was inaugurated in June 2010 and since then its director, Ildefonso Esquivel, has not stopped working to fulfill one of his greatest desires: “hosting a European Tour tournament has been our goal from the beginning and now that they have confirmed that we will host this second qualifying event, we feel that we have taken a big step after these first three years of life”.
Design and installations
The Estepona course is a creation of Cabell B. Robinson and precisely the design of the golf course has been one of the strong points for the European Tour when choosing Valle Romano Golf. The fairways are designed to adapt to players of all levels and the greens of the course stand out for their great amplitude. They have an average of 500 square meters, but hole 4, with its impressive views of the Mediterranean Sea, reaches 1000 square meters. This body has also valued the facilities, the driving range, the restaurant and, in short, the Club House and all the services of Valle Romano Golf.
The fact that it is a course for all types of players and, especially, for its demanding nature from the professional tee, together with an excellent level of maintenance, good facilities, a privileged geographical location (from all the holes you can see the sea) and a high degree of commitment from all the staff involved, means that the Valle Romano Golf course has fulfilled all the requirements to host the competition. “From the beginning the daily commitment of the entire team has been focused on the maintenance of the course and customer service. The entire staff is enthusiastic about the event,” said Esquivel.
On October 31 and November 1 will be two days for training and on November 2, 3, 4 and 5 the second qualifying round for the European Tour will be played, so that about 80 great golf professionals will meet in Valle Romano.
