Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas expressed this Tuesday through his Twitter account that he is “disappointed” for not being able to participate in the CIMB Classic, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, because the validity of his passport expires in two months and he has not been able to renew it.
Vegas wrote on social networks that he was “disappointed” for not being able to go to the tournament in Malaysia because of his passport. “This is one of the many problems we Venezuelans have today. Thanks to everyone at the CIMB Classic for helping me go, but it was not possible.”
It is not the first time that Vegas, who lives in the United States, has had problems with his documentation to travel abroad, as he almost missed the British Open in July because of his visa, which expired the same day he traveled to Scotland. Fortunately, on that occasion he was able to get a new one urgently and finally competed in Carnoustie, where he did not make the cut after 76 and 74 strokes for a total of 8 over par.
