
The emblematic Chaparral Golf Club has celebrated during the weekend its most important golf tournament of the year, the one that commemorates its fifteenth anniversary.
The sporting event commemorates the celebration and reopening of the Costa del Sol club, which reopened its doors 15 years ago thanks to the Rubio family. It has been a weekend with a resounding success of participation of national and international players from different parts of Spain and Europe.
From the club, they are “very pleased to have managed to meet the needs and expectations of all players on such an important date for us. It has been a spectacular weekend of pure golf that has not lacked any detail”.
“First of all,” club sources point out, “we want to make special mention and thank the entire maintenance team for the effort made during the last 15 days to present a course in excellent playing conditions, those conditions added to a spectacular weather, turned out to be the best mix for the players on both days to display their best game.”
All players enjoyed a warm welcome when checking in for the tournament, as they were given a welcome pack for each player and a generous hospitality desk, where players could pick up sweets, fruit and a variety of gifts to face their round of play in the best possible mood.
The XV Anniversary Chaparral Golf Club, was played under the Individual Stableford modality, divided into three categories by handicap, since the club included a “special ladies category”, in support of women’s golf.
The good results obtained throughout the two days showed the high level of play developed by all players. In addition, all participants were able to enjoy both days of great attention along the course, with a fun VIP tent on the 14th hole, where they could enjoy the best Iberian ham, a variety of cheeses and a refreshing manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in addition to the famous buggy bar, a gift from the club, which served to make a nice break and relaunch the players in their last holes.
The tournament had the traditional special prizes along the course, corresponding to the closest ball to the mixed flag and the longest drive in the men’s and ladies’ categories. The prize for the closest ball to the mixed flag was awarded both days on the emblematic 18th hole, with wonderful views of the clubhouse. While the longest drive in both categories was disputed on the generous Hole 13. On this same hole, all players were able to enjoy the reproduction of their swing in the purest PGA Tour style thanks to the company PGV (Professional Golf Video), being able to view the distance and flight achieved by their drivers.
