The head of the 13th Court of Instruction of Malaga has admitted the complaint filed by 7 golf courses on the Costa del Sol against the British citizen Kevin Jenkins, for alleged crimes of fraud. Apparently, the subject, using a British company without activity – CAPTAIN REST GOL LTD – and a local-bar identified as CAPTAIN REST GOLF, attracted British players with the promise of obtaining significant discounts, charged them in cash and then did not pay the courses through various stratagems.

The complaint, which has had the support and collaboration of the Andalusian Association of Golf Managers (www.aaggolf.org), which brings together more than 80 golf directors, aims to put an end to the fraudulent practices allegedly carried out by this subject, who, taking advantage of the good faith of businessmen and fans, illegitimately used players’ credit cards and falsified transfers to make payments for play on the courses.

The preliminary investigations and the entire process followed for the filing of the complaint has been carried out by the prestigious firm Triay & Triay Lawyers (www.triay.com).

Unfortunately, these fraudulent practices have been generalized by alleged tour operators, so these courses and the association of managers have decided to put the necessary means to maintain the image and the high level of services that the golf courses of the Costa del Sol have been providing for so many years.

It should be remembered that the golf industry today is one of the most important in Malaga, and that it depends not only numerous direct and indirect jobs, but much of the prestige and reputation of the Costa del Golf as a tourist destination of high level, so we must put all the necessary means to promote golf tourism, banner of our Costa del Sol.
