Donald consolidates his world number one ranking and Tiger is already fourth

The top positions in the world golf rankings, led by England’s Luke Donald with 9.96 points, are unchanged from last week. Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, with 8.89 points, and England’s Lee Westwood, with 8.33, retain second and third place, respectively. The fourth place is already far behind in terms of score, with 6.70, for the once undisputed number one in the world, Tiger Woods.

Sergio Garcia is still 22nd and is the most outstanding Spaniard, with 4.13 points. He is followed in the ranking by Álvaro Quirós from Cadiz, with 2.79 and occupying 44th place, while the third best ranked Spaniard in the world list is Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño, 46th, with 1.73 points.

The weekend’s winners did make a substantial improvement in the ranking. England’s Danny Willett won his first European Tour victory in Cologne and has climbed 89 places to 115th.

Australian Marc Leishman is in 78th place, a position he improved to 82nd, after winning the Travelers Championship held in Cromwell (Connecticut, United States).
